What the Privacy Policy will cover
The published version will cover the following points.
- Who the data controller is and how to reach them
- What personal data is collected — account, billing, VAT number, contact messages
- Why that data is processed
- The legal basis for each purpose (GDPR Article 6)
- How uploaded ECU files and vehicle data are handled, and how long they are kept
- Processors and sub-processors: hosting, email delivery, payment providers
- Retention periods and deletion
- Data subject rights and how to exercise them
- Cookies and consent management
- Any transfers outside the EU and the safeguards used
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
What is legally required depends on the country in which the company is established. This list is a starting point for the lawyer preparing the document, not a substitute for one.
